Home Remedies For Whitening Your Teeth For A Great Smile

You never realized there were so many thing that can instantly change the color of your teeth. Drinking teas, coffee, and red wine can cause unsightly stains. Smoking cigarettes and cigars can also make your teeth appear yellow.

Having a teeth whitening procedure in the dental office can restore the brightness of teeth. Yet you may not have the time to schedule so many office visits. Here are several home remedies to use in-between office visits to get your teeth white and beautiful.

Homemade Whitening Toothpaste

All you need are two things from the medicine cabinet or pantry: baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. To make the toothpaste, add two tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide to 1 tablespoon of baking soda. Add a small bit of water if the mixture is too gritty. Then brush the toothpaste on your teeth. Thoroughly rinse your mouth out to remove all traces of the baking soda and peroxide.

The natural bleaching effects of these ingredients can whiten your teeth. You will want to limit using this toothpaste to once a week until you get the desired brightness. Then cut back to using this toothpaste to once a month.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar can whiten your teeth due to its acidity. It is also believed that it can kill the bacteria in your mouth. Many people gargle with apple cider vinegar.

If you don’t have hydrogen peroxide to create a homemade tooth whitening paste, you can combine the vinegar with baking soda. Just like the hydrogen peroxide, moderate your usage. Only use this type of toothpaste a few times per week. Then use the toothpaste once a month.
